“Date Night” opens on April 9th this coming Friday.
Steve Carell and Tina Fey look like a great comedic team for a novel concept in a different kind of a movie.
In “Date Night” Phil (Carrell) and Claire (Fey) Foster go out on their weekly date and find themselves completely mixed up in a crazy, crazy night filled with breaking and entering, car chases, shootouts, showdowns, strip clubs and a lot more hilarity.
There’s nothing to test a married couple’s relationship like a car chase and a shootout, that’s for sure.
Friday is the opening day all over the country and theaters are likely to be packed.
We’ve been seeing trailers for quite some time now and the movie really does look funny. I know I want to see it.
While not necessarily a ‘romcom’ or an action movie there are elements of both throughout and I don’t think there could be a less likely pair to play an underground mob type couple than Carell and Fey – and they do it so terribly well with lines like “I think we’re going to get whacked off” and the like.
Already highly rated and well spoken of ‘Date Night” looks like a case of mistaken identity to watch.
